Activities:
A site visit at Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Tung Chung Integrated Services


Understanding the background of the organization:
1. There are over 1000 volunteers
2. The first to win the creative service award


Services and facilities provided by the organization:
1. Library and study room – due to the lack of these facilities
2. Counseling rooms
3. Computer rooms – for elderly and people who cannot function the computer well
4. Sharing room - a place for chatting and sharing
5. Handiwork room – elderly helps to make souvenirs for functions
6. Hold large-scale career expo for the unemployed
7. Provide career brokerage service
8. Work as a transportation subsidies auditing centre
9. Provide household cleaning service
………etc


Promotion method of the organization:
1. School activities
2. Leaflet and magazine for household
3. Artwork of students from its kindergarten displace at the MTR gallery
4. Phone call


Children Development Fund

Objectives:
1. To let people know about the concept and meaning of this fund
2. To catch peoples attention
3. To bring out the concept in 1 minutes
4. To give an image to this project


Points to note:
- it is a project hold in Tung Chung
- the mentor will take part in other projects hold by other organization
- its developed the close relationship with the organization nearby eg. Airport
- we can find some landmark to represent Tung Chung in the project
- the organization had approached to the universities to promote
- the animation need not to be too informative

Q: Can we adjust the saving goal?
A: The CDF is to develop a habit of saving to children. Its due to the lack of teaching in this area by their parents. So that a little adjustment in the saving goal is acceptable when necessary.

Q: Will this project continue in the future?
A: The government will plan depends on the outcome. It will refer to the evaluation from the consultancies that take part in this project.

Q: How to define the goal as a possible one?
A: It has to be related to their studies and future career.

Q: How to attract mentor to join this project?
A: There will be trainings. It is meaningful for mentor to help children for their growth. There may be subsidies.

Q: What is the expectation to the mentors??
A: To deal with the children casually, try to do what the children cannot do by themselves, and try to from a large group with other mentors.

Q: How to promote this project to the companies?
A: Most we need is money. We hope to let them know what the children need. And hope that the company can provide summer jobs for the children. They may find a helpful expert during the work.


Worries:
1. There will not be many (or enough) participants.
2. Not sure mentors reason to help (child abuse?)

Things to do:
1. Animation
2. Tee (maybe a hand band) for all participants
3. And other promotion items
4. Quotations for all promotion items

Things to be finished before Thursday:
1. Research on government advertisement
2. Existing animation and design style
3. Prepare questionnaire for Saturdays interview
4. Confirm the style of the animation and promotion items
